This club will do what it takes to make sure they lose business. I had a PRE-PAID MEMBERSHIP. I did not have a bill to pay nor wanted to pay a montly bill. I paid Wellworx in full for a multi-year contract. When the contract was approaching the end date, I notified Wellworx in writing that I would not be renewing until the fall of 2009 due to recent childbirth along with family member in critical care. It doesn't matter that I notified Wellworx 60 days before my fully paid membership expired and even provided further submitted medical documentation to prove my point further, I am still bombarded with montly collection threats. What makes it even sadder is that the original terms of my contract "disappeared" and the new illegally forced renewal price is $45 a month extra and includes an "Add-on" that is not in the original contract. A monthly $15 late-fee is added. I am not a member anymore! I was going to come back to Wellworx in less than 60 days! They have lost a good paying customer who easily spent $2700 in cash upfront for a paid-in full membership. Stay away-not due to the club's facilities but because of mistreatment of members who are good to the club. They prey on "new members" who truly defaul with month-to-month deal. I paid this club in full for a membership, notified them, and then was renewed at rates of a 50% increase and additional fees. Established members are their bread and butter. They have just burned this bridge. I am attending an open-house at Lifetime Fitness in Collierville today.

Great Place for the entire family

A great wellness facility for the entire family. Not a social networking club like some of the other smaller gyms in Memphis. They have free childcare with your membership. Their is so much to do for everyone in my family, we never get bored, lots of fun!!! I love their indoor warm water pools!

BEWARE!! Apparently, there are people watching you leave your car so they can break into it. This happened while my family was inside for only 30 minutes in broad daylight. The security cameras must not work. We were parked in plain view of the door! A co-worker of mine also had her vehicle broken into and cancelled her membership because of the lack of security. BEWARE!!

While WellWorX entire staff is very concerned about the security issues mentioned in the review by Bosshoney on 11-27, 2007, we request the reader keep an open mind. Unfortunately, there may be people watching us when we leave our cars at WellWorX, as well as at schools, churches, restaurants, malls, other health clubs, and virtually any other high traffic area. Regretably, health clubs can be a prime target for the kind of scum that prey on good people working hard for an optimal life. With a committed staff of over 100, WellWorX not only instills safety and security awareness through ongoing staff training and through our internal network of closed circuit television cameras and monitors, we also work with the Memphis Police Department and the Shelby County Sheriff's Department on security matters. As a result, though WellWorX is the largest health club in the region, we have one of the lowest numbers of automobile break-ins of all area health clubs. While we sincerely regret the negative experience of the writer, WellWorX takes the security of its members and guests very seriously, and we remain committed to providing a safe and inviting atmosphere for you and your family.
