Tennessee's most extensive fine arts museum, the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art displays a plethora of art objects from cultures around the world and throughout the ages. Some of its most important collections include its pieces of Italian Renaissance and Baroque art, French Impressionist works, English portraiture and 20th century sculptural works, though its holdings also include everything from ancient Greek sculpture to tribal art from Africa. The museum sits beside Overton Park, home to the Memphis Zoo, a few miles southeast of downtown Memphis.
Open Tue. - Fri. 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Thurs. until 8:00 p.m.; Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sun. 11:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Closed Mon.
Adults $7; Seniors $6; Youths and Students $3; Children 6 and under are free.
