Set within the building where this local industry once flourished in trade, The Cotton Museum at the Memphis Cotton Exchange explores the history of cotton, from refinements in the growing and collection process to its impact upon the regional culture and economy. Walking through the rooms where industry giants once made their fortunes, visitors can see spaces designed to replicate the look and feel of the trading floor, complete with a telegraph office and phone booths. The museum resides in downtown Memphis, just blocks west of AutoZone Park and north of historic Beale Street.
